Lafayette Lens produced programs on cybersecurity and immigration in the Spring 2015. These were aired on PBS39 on May 5, May 6, and May 10, and are archived on the PBS39 YouTube Channel.
“The Value of PII,” an exploration of cybersecurity.
This edition of Lafayette Lens takes an in-depth look at the battle to secure information and protect privacy in an age of nearly constant and ubiquitous connectivity. Entitled the “The Value of PII,” the program explains that the quest for data containing personally identifiable information, or PII, stands behind most of the surge in cyber attacks and security breaches.
“If I Leave,” an in-depth examination of Latin American immigration.
This edition of Lafayette Lens examines Latin American immigration and its relevance for residents of the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. A group of 21 Lafayette students and professors traveled to Guatemala to explore the complexities of immigration from both sides of the border. The broadcast examines the motivations for migrating, the impact on families and communities left behind, and the effects on areas where migrants resettle.
