Mr. Donald E. Morel, Jr., PhD has been the Chief Executive Officer of West Pharmaceutical Services Inc. since April 2002. Dr. Morel served as the President of West Pharmaceutical Services Inc. from April 2002 to June 2005, Chief Operating Officer from May 2001 to April 2002, Division President, Drug Delivery Systems from October 1999 to May 2001, Group President from April 1998 to October 1999 and Vice President, Scientific Services since November 1992. Dr. Morel served … as the Vice President, Research and Development of West since 1993. He joined West in 1992 as Director of Research and Development. In this role, Dr. Morel spearheaded West’s efforts to develop novel and proprietary drug delivery technologies. From 1998 to 2001, he served as President of several of divisions at West. Dr. Morel developed and managed a broad range of programs involving advanced materials for aerospace, biomedical and pharmaceutical applications for several companies. From 1988 to 1992, Dr. Morel served as Director of Research and Development of Applied Research Inc. He has been Chairman of the Board for West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc., since March 2003.He has been a Director of West Pharmaceutical Services Inc. since March 2002 and Kensey Nash Corporation since March 2010. He served as a Director of Zynaxis Inc., since July 1995. He serves as Director of Fox Chase Cancer Center. He received several awards and honors including becoming a Fellow for the American Institute for Medical & Biologic Engineering. Dr. Morel holds a BS degree in Engineering from Lafayette College, an MS in Materials Science and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University.
